This is a GREAT television wall mount at a GREAT price!!

It arrived this afternoon. We took it out of the box, laid everything out and read the instructions. We wasted about 45 minutes before going to the computer and watching the installation video. I strongly suggest you watch the video on the product page before attempting the installation. It makes it SO MUCH easier to do. We were making it too difficult - it isn't. The stud finder worked quite well - assembly of parts was easy and there are so many extra parts, which is greatly appreciated because you never know if you will change out tv sizes in the future, etc.

We installed a 42" Honeywell flat screen tv. We used the fixed arms and added one extension arm to each fixed arm and neither the video or the written instruction say to do this, but we did for a little added extra security. After one was secured to the other, we used an extra bolt cross-ways. That seemed to stabilize them even more. You certainly will have extras to use.

I would suggest after attaching the cable and other connections to the tv - BEFORE putting it on the wall mount - turn it on and make sure everything is working correctly. It is a lot easier to change out the cables BEFORE it is on the wall and it has to be taken down again.

You will need a drill, 3mm drill bit, 12mm drill bit masonry, a hammer, a pencil and a Philips screwdriver to install the unit. The built-in bubble level is wonderful!

I love the way the television looks on the wall!

AND, just as important as the ease of installation is the Amazon price. We looked at units twice the price and higher and honestly, you could not tell the difference EVEN IF YOU COULD SEE IT, which you can't. This is a good-looking wall mount.

This is a GREAT deal! I would highly recommend it.

Did not fit Panasonic 42" LCD TV

This product is sturdy and well constructed.

Unfortunately it wasn't a good match for the Panasonic 42" LCD TV I purchased.

It didn't have flat washers that fit the screw type needed so I had to get those at the hardware store.

The directions say you don't need that washer for "larger" TVs but I wasn't going to risk just using the tiny lock washer.

Why you would use the lock washer and a flat washer for the smaller TVs, but just the lock washer for a larger TV is a mystery to me.

The other odd thing is that once the TV is mounted to the wall plate you can easily slide it back and forth. The only thing that seems to prevent the TV from being pushed off is the bubble level in the middle.

It has a feature where you can supposedly use a padlock to "lock the TV in place to prevent it from being lifted or slid off the wall mount". But the lock only locks the bracket at the bottom in place, it still doesn't prevent the TV from being pushed side to side. Nothing locks the TV or brackets directly to the wall plate to prevent side to side movement and I wanted the TV to be firmly in place with no play.

If you don't have children this might not be a problem, but since I do I decided to go with the manufacturers wall mount instead (according to Panasonic only the Panasonic mount can be used but since I had previously purchased the Amazon wall mount I gave it a try).

The other issue was the location of the inputs on the back of the TV relative to the wall plate. With the wall mount in place you need to either mount the TV to one side (which seemed unsafe since the weight would not be evenly distributed) or it was then impossible to connect some of the cables.

Perhaps the designers didn't have the Panasonic in mind, but if this truly can be called a universal mount it should work with any TV.

It would also be nice if the product description would list compatible and non-compatible TV models to save the customer some time on finding out the hard way.

So an okay product that could be a really great product if a few things were changed. It is definitely sturdy and at a great price compared to other wall mounts.

Great value and easy to install

There are so many pluses here I don't know where to start. First off, the mount can accomodate TV's up to 200 lbs and from 26" to 50"! This means that if you have a 46 inch, you don't have to go for the usually more expensive mounts, as some mounts will only go to 40 inches.....a built in level? This cheap little add on is so brilliant! Having several levels, I can tell you that the one on my mount is true. I love that it is powder coated, as the finish should last and be a lot tougher (Powder coating is usually applied electrostatically and then heat cured giving a tougher finish than regular paint). You should have no problem mounting your TV if you follow the directions. Keep in mind this is a basic mount. It will not tilt or telescope. I used it to mount a 46 inch lcd in my office, and while I have mounted several TV's, I am by no means a professional, and this was easy. All the mounting hardware is included as well as stud finder and level which I mentioned. If this is your first time, just take it slow and figure everything out first. While this does not include "cord management," you can easily buy something at you local hardware store to cover the cords. If you are mounting it behind your wall it should be easy to drill a hole behind the TV somewhere and then another at ground level and pass the wires behind the wall (that's what I did)....very easy, and you can't get a cleaner look. Of course, before you even start mounting your TV, make sure all of your cable connections are made and working....and then make sure you are into a stud! In my home the first TV I mounted was not in a stud (my house is 99 years old and not built as one would expect (studs 16 inch on center). So, while it may take a few more minutes, mount your mount first without the TV and put a little weight on it. This is especially important if you are doing it yourself. If you have a friend helping (always a good idea) have that person support the TV and you can both slowly let it go. The last thing you want is to have the whole thing ripped out of the wall because you did not mount it correctly. With that said, a little caution and common sense should get you through this easily enough and without drama. It really is easy, just take your time and you can do it.
